The sea in winter has its own kind of Christmas, and this invitation catches it: a white lighthouse on snowy rocks, a wreath on the keeper’s door, gray waves and a soft evening sky, painted in thick strokes like an oil on canvas.
It suits a Christmas party at a coastal home, a New England holiday dinner, a family gathering at the shore, a sailing club party or anyone who would rather have salt air than tinsel. Name the hosts, give the date and the time, add the address, and the card is done.
Match the evening to the picture: chowder or a seafood stew, warm bread, a fire going, driftwood and evergreen on the mantel, and a walk to the water before dark. Send the invitation in a message and it opens on any phone; on heavy card stock it looks like a small painting.
