Everything here is cut from paper: a long-necked brachiosaurus leaning in with a pennant, a triceratops looking up from the bottom corner, ferns and monstera leaves in three shades of green, and a page with footprints, a spiral ammonite and a fern fossil pressed into it like a museum drawer. The headline, A Roaring Good Time, has its own torn label at the top, so the name below it gets to be huge.
The sample reads Leo is turning 5; type your own child’s name and age and the card is done. The date, time and place sit between two fern dividers, in letters big enough for a grandparent to read on a phone. The headline is part of the drawing, but there is room for one more line under the name, and the ones that get the best reaction from five-year-olds are “Stomp on over!”, “Dig into fun!” and “Five and ferocious!”
Boys and girls, three to seven. For the party itself: a sandbox with buried plastic bones and brushes, dinosaur-egg balloons, a volcano cake with red frosting lava and a roar contest to finish. Two to three weeks’ notice is plenty; this crowd needs time to find the costume.
