Three bluebell lanterns actually glow. Under them a small fairy with a flower crown and sheer gold-veined wings sits on the rim of a pink petal, looking up, while blossom branches and paper leaves frame the page on both sides. A Little Fairy Magic is lettered in gold script at the top, and a sprig of leaves with one pink flower divides the name from the details.

Ivy is turning 3 in a plum italic, then May 30, 4 to 6 PM and Willow Garden in small green capitals; put your own in. If the child has a favorite phrase, it goes under the name: “Fairy, fairy, quite contrary”, “Fluttering into four” and “Come find the fairies” all read well, and “Fairy magic at three” keeps the age in the line.

Two to six. Hold it outside if the weather lets you: a wand-making table, flower crowns, a tea set on a blanket, fairy bread, a cake with sugar flowers and a trail of paper toadstools to follow. Three weeks’ notice; this is the card that gets pinned to the fridge.
