October has a baby shower of its own, and this is its invitation. Pale cream pumpkins and bright orange ones crowd the corners, maple leaves and berries climb the frame, and a warm copper glow runs through the lettering as if the whole card had been left in the autumn sun.
It is a neutral card at heart, lovely for a girl or a boy, and it was made for a barn, a porch or a backyard with a fire pit going. Add the name, the date and the place, and send it while the leaves are still on the trees.
The season writes the menu: pumpkin bread and apple cider, a chili bar with cornbread, caramel apples on sticks, and a crate of small pumpkins by the door so every guest leaves with one under their arm.
