Ready, set, party. A lion in a red racer leads an elephant, a giraffe and a zebra around a winding track, checkered flags flying, balloons at the finish line. It is loud in the best way: red, yellow, green and blue on a sunny day, the colors of every toy-car box the birthday boy owns.
The words sit on a checkered banner and a cream panel below it: ready, set, party, the name and age, the date, the track (that is, the place) and who to RSVP to. Change the details in a minute, and the invitation is ready to race; as a video it finishes like a podium celebration.
Party ideas that fit: a “pit stop” snack table, a cardboard-box racetrack on the lawn, checkered-flag cupcake toppers, and toy cars as favors (the ones that work as the invitation’s colors). Ages three to seven, mostly boys, though a girl with a favorite race car will hold you to the theme. Two weeks’ notice is plenty.
